Generation No. 1
1. EDWARD1 MORGAN was born 1670 in Bala Coty, Merionethshire, Wales, and died 1736 in Towamencin twp., Montgomery Co., PA. He married ELIZABETH MARGARET JARMAN Abt. 1689 in Pennsylvania, daughter of JOHN JARMAN. She was born Abt. 1674 in Wales, and died Aft. 1724 in Towamencin twp., Montgomery Co., PA.
Notes for EDWARD MORGAN: Edward and his wife arrived in PA in 1683 and lived near Radnor, PA until 1695 when they moved to Towamencin Twp and built a house on 500 acres. He joined the Religious Society of Friends and was known as Edward Morgan the taylor.
From The Boone Family by Spraker, 1922, p. 542 "There is an early record which states that "Edward Morgan and Elizabeth his wife, both free, arrived at Philadelphia in the same ship (The Morning Star) from Liverpool, in the 9th month 1683 (20th 9th month)." (Pennsylvania Magazine of History and Biography, Vol. 8, p. 329).
The Morgan Log House (http://www.morganloghouse.org/): History Deed research has traced the land upon which The Morgan Log House stands to the Commissioners of William Penn, who granted it as part of a 600 acre patent to Griffith Jones on February 12, 1702. Edward Morgan purchased 309 acres of this patent from Griffith Jones on February 26, 1708. An extant "dwelling house" is mentioned in this transaction. The land containing the house was then deeded to John Morgan, son of Edward, on August 23, 1723 as part of a 104 acre tract. John Morgan deeded the 104 acres to Evan David on August 12, 1741. The land was deeded to John Yakel on May 20, 1770. John Yakel deeded 82 acres and 120 perches of this tract to Yellis Cassel on May 27, 1774. This land descended through the Cassel family for 99 years, until May 14, 1873, when 62 acres, 131 perches of it were deeded to Frederick Bower. A succession of owners and divisions followed until William Nash purchased 17.242 remaining acres on June 6, 1965 for subdivision into a suburban housing development. The house remaining on this property stood vacant for several years; it was considered an eyesore and was condemned by 1967. Detected as an historic structure in 1967 by architect Albert F. Ruthrauff, the house was brought to the attention of historic restoration architect G. Edwin Brumbaugh who identified it as a log structure of architectural significance. The Towamencin Township Board of Supervisors was notified of this discovery; Supervisor John B. Jacobs, MD then spearheaded a movement to save the house from demolition. Adjoining the Township pool and park area, the house and a 1.7 acre site surrounding it, including a concrete silo and ruined barn, were designated a public recreational area in 1968, and were purchased from William Nash by Towamencin Township on June 25, 1970.
Some genealogy from Stewart Baldwin's web site which also states: Edward is not the son of Sir James Morgan m. Anne Hopton http://sbaldw.home.mindspring.com/e_morgan.htm
http://sbaldw.home.mindspring.com/flist.htm: Although Edward Morgan's wife Elizabeth was probably the daughter of John Jarman, this has not been solidly documented. The principal evidence comes from an account given by an aged great-granddaughter of Edward Morgan to a younger relative, which was then reported soon afterward by the latter in a letter. There are also several pieces of primary evidence which lend support to, but do not confirm, the relationship. (Stewart Baldwin)

1728 (Dec. 3): Bucks County Deed book No. 23, page 175 states that Thomas Shute and wife of Phila. and Heronimous Hass of Perkomen conveyed to Squire Boone of New Britain township, weaver, 147 acres of land in New Britain township described as follows: Beginning at the corner of land reputed to be Abel Morgan's, thence extending northeast 128 perches; southeast by Philip Sitsler, 184 perches; southwest by Andrew Hamilton's land 128 perches; northwest by Abel Morgan's land 184 perches to place of beginning." The tract is located about 3/4 of a mile west of Chalfont, PA.

Later it was found that Sarah was with child at the time of the marriage.
